Al Hirst is an old High School friend of Mike Kelly’s (from when they both lived in Colorado), and though Al has lived in Michigan for many years he has made it down for a few Turkey Runs lately to hang out. However, this year he had Exotic Car Transport ship down his cream colored Mercury so he could be a full-fledged participant. The Merc has a thumping blown flathead under the hood, and is unique because it is given a hot rod feel, yet also retains a basically stock body. Al has owned this Merc since the early 1970’s, so you know it has been a love affair to still have it after all these years. We were glad to see Al down here again, and hope the trend continues.
