The South East Rods & Customs held their Toys For Tots Car Show to benefit the U.S. Marine Corps campaign on December 12th, 2010. The setting was the Quarterdeck Restaurant, located at 3301 Northlake Blvd. in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
There were around 100 registered vehicles, with the entry fee being an unwrapped toy or donation. The weather held up nicely for the show Lots of good food was served all day long by the Quarterdeck Seafood Bar & Neighborhood Grill, and the 20% discount to participants was much appreciated. Door prizes and raffles were held throughout the day, and entertainment was provided by the Ben’s Revenge Band, who did a great job all day long.
Awards were handed out to the 20 Best Of Show recipients at around 3:00pm. Congratulations also go to Bettie Hancock for winning the plasma television that was given away.
I didn’t make the Toys For Tots Show in Abacoa, but between the two shows about 1,000 toys were collected to benefit the 4th Anglico Marines on Belvedere Rd. in West Palm Beach. In turn the toys were distributed as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community, to help ensure a happy holiday season that no child should have to do without.
The South East Rods & Customs would like to thank everyone for making this show a huge success. Keep an eye out for their upcoming shows by checking the Coming Attractions section of Mike Kelly’s Cruise News. CN
