The Ford factory backed Top Fueler of Connie Kalitta making shake down runs at Irwindale, California, in December of 1966. The car sported the mighty 427 SOHC Ford engine (also known as "The Cammer"). To modern day drag racing fans Connie is known as the owner / tuner of the Mac Tools Top Fuel Dragster that runs on the NHRA circuit with his nephew Doug Kalitta driving. Connie Kalitta has been drag racing a long time!!
