In the old days drivers did a lot more than sit around and sign autographs between runs. Years ago, Hot Rod Magazine stated that a “true hot rodder” knew every nut and bolt on their car personally. Being a true hot rodder in every sense, Don Garlits built them, tuned them, and drove them, and did it better than just about anyone else.
