The Allen Family team ran “The Wasp” Junior Fueler back in the mid-1960’s. Here is Les Allen driving the fuel injected, nitro burning, small block Chevy powered ride at Irwindale, California, on December 26, 1966. The Allen brothers, Les, Ed, and Jeb, all drove nitro burning race cars at one time or another. The youngest brother Jeb went on to Top Fuel fame in the 1970’s and 1980’s driving “The Praying Mantis” dragster the family owned.
