At an age where most people play shuffleboard, the “Golden Greek” Chris Karamesines was at Gainesville proving that you are only as old as you feel. Karamesines first ran over 200 miles per hour way back in 1960 at the wheel of a Top Fueler. At the Mac Tools Gatornationals in 2004, the seventy four year old racer laid down a best of 4.97 at 271.32 miles per hour on the quarter mile, which made him the second alternate in the sixteen car field.
