16th Annual Pontiac Car Show at Old Town • February 23rd, 2008

The Wide Track Warriors Pontiac Club held their 16th Annual Pontiac Car Show and Swap Meet on Saturday, February 23rd, 2008. The location was once again Old Town’s expansive “Trophy Row” in Kissimmee, located on US 192, one mile east of I-4.

Despite some rain showers there was a very strong turnout of Pontiacs, with registration taking place from 8:00-11:00am. There were plenty of door prizes to be given out, plus a 50/50 drawing and Hot Wheels 1/64 drag racing kept things interesting throughout the day. With so many prime examples exhibited judging was very difficult to say the least, with 50+ trophies being presented at 2:00pm. Proceeds from the show were to benefit Pet Rescue By Judy, and $1,000 was donated to her adoption program.

In addition to the gorgeous vehicles themselves, other notable attendees included Jim Wangers, who has a new book out called Pontiac Pizazz, and was available for autographs when not checking out the cool cars himself. Paul Zazarine was also on hand, no doubt taking photos for his Pontiac Enthusiast Magazine coverage, and scouting future feature cars. Both Jim Wangers and Paul Zazarine were also at Carl Black Pontiac on Friday night from 6:00-9:00pm for a pre-show meet and greet. Also, since the show took place on Saturday at Old Town, those with vehicles 1974 and older were invited to stay for Old Town’s “regular” Saturday Nite Cruise festivities.

The Wide Track Warriors Pontiac Club is based out of Orlando, Florida, and has been around for over a decade. The club has always been about people getting together and having a good time, and you can learn more about the Wide Track Warriors by visiting their web site at www.orlandowtw.com.
