I raced this 1978 Kawasaki Z1-R drag bike from 1981 through 1994, with this picture being taken in it's last stages. It was 1400cc with all the good stuff, and was capable of 8.90's at 145 mph in the quarter mile in 1993-94. I eventually sold this awesome bike after we started The Cruise News and bought my '57 Chevy Sedan Deliver from the funds. An interesting side bar is that this style of bike is a classic....kind of like a '57 Chevy. It was the first production bike to carry a small faring, and any bike racer knows what I mean about it being a classic.
