Joe Lipscomb of Lakeland owns this 1969 Chevelle SS 396, which was displayed the Lake Mirror Classic during October. It had a sign that stated in 1969 the Chevelle SS 396 went back to being an option only package instead of a separate model, and the vast majority of SS packages went into Malibu hardtops. Chevy gave the SS396 two exclusive colors that could be seen from blocks away: Monaco Orange (like this one), and Daytona Yellow. Standard was the 325hp version, with 350hp being an option. A 375hp version was also available but not promoted in literature.
