“Bullet Bird” is the name Rockledge resident Larry Hanes has for his 1961 Ford Thunderbird. It is a “survivor car”, having no restoration to date, and everything is original except the tires. The odometer shows less than 22,000 original miles, and Larry is only the cars 2nd owner. The white exterior has wire wheels, the interior has red vinyl, and under the hood is a 390 V-8 with 300hp thanks to a 4-barrel Holley carb and dual exhaust system. Total production was 73,051, with 62,535 of those being Hardtops with an original sticker price of $4,170, and Larry’s was the 37,309 vehicle assembled.
